A few years ago, I held off on holding a health update from Brian to make sure that all the information was gathered before I deemed it appropriate to share it. Typically with band updates I do this anyway, but when something is happening over the course of time/a series of events, I tend to hold off just a bit longer, hence why this update might be coming out at a "later" time.
For those of you unaware with what's been going on with Brian's health lately, here's the link to the lengthy Soapbox article. The TL;DR version is that he tore his gluteal muscle while gardening a few weeks ago. Over the course of time, it turned out that he had a compressed sciatic nerve (most likely from having a guitar hang around your shoulders and near your waist for a good chunk of your life), and on top of recovering from it all suffered a minor heart attack. Thankfully, it was minor symptoms, like generic chest pain and the hurting arm. Three stints have been put in place and the bottom line is that HE IS OKAY.
Later this week, Brian also announced that he is once again putting his "what does he do with his Ph.D" into action as he has published another scientific article in along with fellow scientists on asteroids! You can read that here. The best part of it, to me, is that the abstract is more readable than Bri's actual doctoral thesis' abstract.

"This is going to sound very strange but I sort of feel like, like I died and yet I was able to come to the funeral and see all the tributes and stuff. I hand’t thought that at funerals. I don't know if you think that you know all these people who come and say these wonderful things about the person that's gone, but you can't hear it or she can't hear it, and so I'm lucky I got to hear it from...My life is complete; yeah. I'm sorry that sounds weird but, I don't know, I can't compare it with anything."

Oh, man, I'm having a bit of a...moment trying to adjust to the new site layout, especially for groups. If something looks off, be patient as we try to adjust how things operate around here!
I'm sure most of you have seen this by now, but I'm still passing it along! Remember how for the past few months of this pandemic, Brian and Roger have been posting their covers on Instagram? Well now Q+AL have put together a new version of "We Are The Champions" for our healthcare workers during this crisis. Check out the press release here: https://www.queenonline.com/news/press-release-queen-adam-lambert-release-you-are-the-champions-for-the-world-health-organization
Last time I mentioned that the annual Freddie Birthday Party was still happening as planned, but as of the end of April, that is no longer the case. The rescheduled dates for the Freddie Birthday Party will be September 4th, 2021.
Stay safe out there!
